Outlines aggressive expansion plans with aim to lead regional specialty coffee market

Dubai, UAE, 7th July 2004: Second Cup, the popular specialty coffee retailer, announced today the opening of its fifth caf in Dubai at Spinneys in the prestigious Bur Dubai area.  The opening is part of the regional expansion plans, which started with the first outlet opening in March last year on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mohi-din Binhendi, President, Bin Hendi Enterprises, the master franchisee of Second Cup in the Middle East said that the launch of the new Second Cup outlet at Bur Dubai is testimony to the company's commitment to offer the best coffee experience to consumers, as well as to grow the brand in the region.

Said Mr. Binhendi, "Given the tremendous response to the first Second Cup cafe on Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as the rising popularity of the brand, we are always looking for locations to make our brand more accessible.  This move is in line with the company's ambitious growth strategy to capture a larger market share of the rapidly increasing specialty coffee consumer segment."

The new Second Cup caf, open from 7:30 am to midnight, boasts a trendy ambience and offers a fabulous range of coffees including the recently introduced Maple Syrup Latte, as well as aromatic teas.  The caf also offers English style breakfasts, and grilled panini-style sandwiches, which compliment the wide selection of beverages.

On the anvil are plans to open Second Cup cafes at Sharjah City Center and Diera City Centre. The company also plans to open cafes in Abu Dhabi and Oman markets during the coming months, and steadily expand in other areas of the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
