Dubai - February 26th 2006: Scanit, the leading international technology security auditing and consulting firm, today announced that Karel Vankeirsbilck and Wouter Branger were voted onto its board of directors. This move will bolster the firm's strategic planning and broaden Scanit's areas of expertise within the security realm. It also heralds the launch of 'Scanit R&D Labs', which is  aimed at providing and extending research based security services to the market. The new division of Scanit will be based at Dubai Internet City.

"Especially in the IT field, information and research based services that go beyond quantative methods are lacking. Through our work over the years we have built up a reservoir of information and experience that will be employed to give technology and security professionals insight into specific areas of operations," said David Michaux, Scanit's CEO. "The scope of Scanit's strategy and vision will be widened now that Karel Vankeirsbilck and Wouter Branger, two veteran experts in the technology security field, have joined our Board."

Karel Vankeirsbilck, one of the founding members of Scanit, saw the potential during his tenure as Chief Security Officer of Belgacom, the Belgian telecommunications giant. He started his venture into the world of security through five years of service with the Belgian military. He then switched to the private sector, where he spent eleven years as security manager at AGFA-Gevaert. From there, he moved to become security director at Belgacom in 1996. Karel chairs the Security Commission of UNICE (European Employers Federation) and hold qualifications from a number of the leading European institutes.

Wouter Branger was first introduced to Scanit when he was head of security for BEN, the Belgacom owned mobile phone subsidiary in the Netherlands. Since BEN's takeover by T-Mobile in 2002 (the second largest mobile operator with over 80 million customers), Wouter was promoted to Executive Vice President Corporate Security & Fraud for T-Mobile Worldwide in 2004 where he continues to be in charge of the security department. Wouter holds a Law degree from the University of Amsterdam (Dutch Law and Criminology) and is a resident of the Netherlands.
