DUBAI, United Arab Emirates: March 5th, 2013 - Samsung Electronics Co. Under the theme 'Introducing New Learning Experiences', Samsung is demonstrating its SMART and dynamic digital learning environments and solutions that are currently being deployed across the Gulf. Samsung's participation at the GESS Exhibition reflects the company's vision to enhance the standard of education services in the Gulf and transform the region's educational landscape by introducing technology-based learning.

At the event, Samsung will display its portfolio of products that can be customized and integrated in an educational environment to make learning more intuitive, interactive and smart. These include Samsung's GALAXY Tabs range, Notebooks, ATIV Smart PC, the new All-in-one PC, its Interactive E-Board, Video Wall, Digital Signage Solutions and the next generation Samsung SUR40 with Microsoft® PixelSense™.

"Samsung is a strong believer in supporting technology-based learning and its role in transforming the region's education sector. This is why we made it our vision to enable smart learning environments that bring out the innovative and creative qualities of our future generations. It is important that we do all that we can to help enrich learning and teaching experience through empowering educators and students with the right tools. This is why GESS is an excellent platform for us to showcase some of the cutting-edge solutions that we are implementing in the Gulf to help enhance education services". Said Madhav Narayan, Regional Director, GCC, Enterprise Business at Samsung Gulf Electronics

The focus on technology at schools has taken center stage in recent years, especially with the introduction of the UAE Ministry of Education's flagship 'Smart Learning' Initiative. The initiative seeks to establish a unique learning environment in schools through the introduction of 'Smart Classes', utilizing tablet PCs and high-speed 4G networks as a means of acquiring knowledge.

On February 3rd, Samsung announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 'Smart Learning' outlining a framework to tap into Samsung's innovative digital convergence technologies to help build a world-class educational environment in the UAE. Samsung's other projects in the UAE include introducing education solutions in Abu Dhabi Education Council, Sharjah Education Council, Higher College of Technology, Brighton College, GEMS Schools,  Dubai Police Academy, Supreme Education Council Qatar, Bahrain University and Ministry of Defense Oman.

Samsung's solutions encourage students to learn from each other's success and mistakes. Smart software also allows teachers to create more engaging personalized lesson plans, which helps to create a classroom of students with the critical skills necessary for a knowledge based economy.

"By utilizing Samsung's solutions, schools and education institutions will be able to easily transform a conventional setting into a Smart classroom". Continued Mr. Narayan.

The GESS Exhibition will be taking place at the Dubai World Trade Center from 5th to the 7th March 2013.
