New aircraft will further business plans to increase existing load capacity, unlock new target destinations and open fresh opportunities
Dubai, October 24th, 2011 - Safi Airways, the leading international airline of Afghanistan has acquired another Airbus A320 as part of a business decision to expand their fleet. The Airbus A320 was formally added to the fleet on October 7th, 2011 during a ceremony attended by senior Safi Airways officials, along with local media representatives in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Along with acquiring the new aircraft, Safi Airways has also implemented a complete product overhaul. Traveller will be able to choose from a much wider range of in-flight entertainment programs from comfort of the plush new seats in all Safi flights.
"We want to enhance the flying experience and make it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible for our valued customers", said Ghulam Safi, Founder of Safi Airways. "This is just another step in our on-going efforts to constantly upgrade our service in our relentless pursuit to expand Afghanistan's leading airline."
The new Airbus A320 has 12 seats in business class and 132 seats in economy, enabling Safi Airways to increase load capacity. "The addition of this aircraft to our fleet will also boost Safi Airways' plans to develop new routes in the GCC and expand further into Asia", said Michael McTighe, COO, Safi Airways.
"The increased capacity will allow us to pursue our growth plans and unlock new target destinations."
Initially the new aircraft will be used to add capacity on other routes, namely the addition operations between Kabul and Dubai. Safi will also be announcing a new Asian route in the coming days which will also be operated by this aircraft.
