Dubai (United Arab Emirates) - The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is organizing a Career Day Program at Dubai International Airport Expo Center from 10.00 am to 07.00 pm on 23 & 24 February, 2008.
Kawther Kazim, Director of Human Resources Dep't at RTA Corporate Support Services Sector, said that through this Career Show RTA aims at offering diverse positions in a wide range of specialties that include roads network, traffic systems, transport lines, and mass transit modes. "This step is triggered by the sustained expansion of RTA operations, promising plans, and the need to attract qualified HR; which is one of the key objectives of the RTA" she said.
"The Career Day is divided into two days. The first day, on 23 February, is dedicated to UAE national applicants holders of secondary & technological certificates, as well as university, MA and Ph.D. degree holders. They will be welcomed to occupy various positions in all RTA Agencies" said Kawther.
She added that the second day, on 24 February, will be opened to experts & academics from UAE nationals and UAE residents, in specialties spanning engineering, project management, business development, investment & finance, and QHSE, in addition to land, marine & rail transport, public relations, and human resources & training.
Kawther explained that the mechanism of registration is those applicants are required to accompany copies of CVs and educational certificates. "Applications will be registered on line in a system dedicated for this end. RTA has provided four computers for this purpose so as to save time and accommodate bulks of applications submitted. Applications can also be received in a CD, and printouts of the website will be distributed to the public. We will respond to the jobs required by the RTA within one month at most" commented Kawther.
She explained that the total number of RTA male employees is 4848 and female employees are 470. There are 1697 UAE nationals of whom 1286 are male and 408 are female. Emiratization in leadership positions is 100% and in various posts is 60%. There are 34 UAE-national departmental directors in the RTA of whom 29 are male directors (85%) and 5 are female directors (14%). The total number of UAE national section managers is 109 managers; of whom 85 are male managers (78%) and 24 are female managers (22%).
