Starting 5 July 2004, Royal Air Maroc flies non-stop to Bologna departing Casablanca, twice per week on Monday and Saturday.

The launching of this new line is a part of the commercial and promotional framework of the national flag carrier targeting the outflow of Moroccans residing abroad to Morocco.

From a tourist standpoint, the new Casablanca-Bologna line regionalizes the Italian network by creating an additional offering flying out from issuing regions with strong potential while cutting out saturation and dependency on Rome and Milan only.

Royal Air Maroc conveys nearly 200 000 passengers per year from Italy half of which on regularly scheduled flights.

Charter activity originating from Italy represents upwards of 20% of the global charter flight volume of the national flag carrier.

The Summer 2004 program of Royal Air Maroc has made it possible to raise the seating capacity (to and from Italy) by + 24% compared to 2003, i.e. a total of 88 824 seats.

In line with the strategy of supporting the National Tourism Development Plan, Royal Air Maroc has created new tourist point-to-points flights among which, Agadir-Milan, Marrakech-Milan, Marrakech-Rome, Agadir-Rome, and Casablanca-Bologna. At the same time the Airline has reinforced already existing line. Examples: Casablanca-Milan and Casablanca-Rome.

Royal Air Maroc organized an inaugural flight Bologna-Casablanca on 10 July 2004, for a large Italian delegation consisting of town officials, tour operators, tourism and travel professionals, journalists and Golf Clubs.

The city of Bologna, located in the region of Emilia Romagna is the home of a large Moroccan community and represents dynamic industrial activity favoring the development of economic exchanges between Lombardia and Morocco.
