State-of-the-art communication and networking solutions to provide Free Zone clients with cost-effective integrated IT infrastructure
Dubai - The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone, one of the most motivated & best-equipped free zones in the region, has announced that the state-of-the-art IP telephony and security services from Cisco Systems have been deployed at its Business hub, an ambitious project offering world-class business environment.
The Business Park, located in the Central Business District of Ras Al Kahimah Emirate, is one of the three parks envisaged by RAKFTZ, segregating business activities according to functions and operational requirements.
Announcing the implementation of the latest communication network at a press conference here today, H.H. Sheikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Chairman of RAK Free Trade Zone, said: "The implementation of the latest networking systems at our prestigious Business Park is a great step forward for our ambitious plan to make RAK Free Trade Zone one of the best in the region. With state-of-the-art technology, our tenants now have the flexibility, scalability and multi-service capabilities and they are in a position to maximize their reach in the marketplace."

In his comments, Samer Al Kharrat, General Manager -Gulf Region, Cisco Systems said: "By deciding to base the RAK Free Trade Zone entirely on the Cisco IP Telephony and security platform, the Authority has made sure it that the tenants have the advantage of a world-class communication infrastructure. Cisco's IP solutions offer a host of advanced facilities and services that will allow tenants of the Park to access critical information from any place and at anytime."
He added: "A converged data and voice network allows the entire communications infrastructure to be based on a single platform, reducing cabling and management costs. Moreover, it facilitates increased manageability and performance."
The RAKFTZ Authority has revolutionized the way Free Trade Zones function in the UAE with a host of unique facilities and benefits to its tenants and business partners. The multi-tenant Business Park is designed to enable companies to easily and conveniently set up facilities in the UAE by leveraging latest technologies and remote connectivity at a competitive cost and offers 100 per cent ownership in a tax-free environment.

The technology portfolio deployed by Cisco includes IP phones, 4510 Core Switches, 3560 Edge Switches, Pix 515 Firewall, Nevotek Adagio, Nevotek IPT office, Nevotek Billing Sigma 5-Suite, Security and Network Management, and Cisco IPCC express call centre. The Cisco infrastructure provides data and telephony connectivity as well as remote access to tenants of the park, while the Cisco IP Contact Centre (IPCC) will deliver services to both tenants and the free zone management.
Coupled with other benefits, which includes easy access to Dubai International Airport, which is just 40-minutes drive away from RAK, besides excellent seaport and airport facilities, the RAK Free Zone also extends a range of advantages such as facilities for all business requirements like legal, human resources and marketing assistance, Chamber of Commerce membership, easy international access, simple and fast application procedures, and Residence Visas among other incentives.
