Amy Johnson, Director for The Look Company in Qatar, and Robert Bruce Johnson, consultant and lawyer for Heenan Blaikie in Qatar were awarded Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee Medal for their achievements in Qatar and their exceptional service to Canada, internationally.
Amy's family started the Look Company in 1998 in Canada, before opening their second manufacturing facility in the Middle East in Doha. Amy has spent the last 8 years in Qatar helping to build the level of excellence and Olympic standard that Qatar offers the international sporting community through branding and high quality production of events in Qatar.
"I'm very proud I was given this medal, to be recognized in Canada for my achievements in my home of Qatar; it is a great honor. This type of award isn't possible without the support of the community and my family and I are very appreciative to be a part of the fabric of this country. We are grateful for the opportunities that have been provided to The Look Company and look forward to helping Qatar prepare for the next huge milestone, the Qatar 2022 World Cup," commented Amy.
The Look Company worked with the Qatar 2022 Bid Committee in support of the FIFA bid and is proud to have been part of making history in Qatar. Bruce has recently opened Heenan Blaikie's regional rep office in Doha. Living full-time in Qatar now since 2011, he works closely with Canada's 20th Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Jean Chretien and facilitates Canadian and American businesses setting-up and winning business in Qatar. His consulting and legal practice also focuses on international investments and advisory work, international M&A, assisting emerging countries with their nuclear power generation programs as well as providing family office services to ultra-high net-worth individuals.
With a strong business and a unique Hollywood finance and production background, Bruce is also hoping to volunteer and contribute to Qatar's budding entrepreneurial and film communities.

The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a new commemorative medal that was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to this country. At the same time, it serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians all around the world.
The Honourable Maxime Bernier, Canadian Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism) decided to honour Amy Johnson and Robert Bruce Johnson with medals for their exceptional service to Canada, internationally.
