New bi-lingual format easier and more straightforward to understand
Qtel today announced the launch of a new telephone bill format that provides much greater levels of information and detail making it easier for customers to understand the breakdown of their Qtel bills. New bi-lingual (Arabic and English) bills will start to be issued on 18 February and have a number of additional features that make paying phone bills less confusing and much more straightforward and, at the same time, help customers better understand what they are paying for. The new layout will be applied to the all Qtel services such as Mobile GSM, landline, barQ ADSL and Cable Vision.
Dr Nasser, CEO at Qtel said, "The new bill is much clearer in letting customers know the exact status on their account with Qtel and importantly, from now on, service subscription charges will be on monthly basis as opposed to the current quarterly basis. This will go a long way to reducing 'spikes' in our customers' budgeting plans. The new bills have much more information than previously and provide the details that customers need to re-assure them and explain expenditure on our products and services."
The new bi-lingual bills have a number of benefits over the old format. Page one of the bill shows a payment summary of charges by category, such as subscriptions fee's, one-time charges and usage for all lines and services under one account and how much the customer needs to pay and by when.
This top page also clearly shows the customers assigned credit limit and will also show any deposits made for Qtel services. Also shown here, is the period to which charges apply - for example 1 August 2006 - 31 August 2006 and the bill date, which will be the date of bill processing The 'bill due' date is the date by which the bill should be paid, which will always be 30 days after the date of the bill.
The second page will show all service subscription fees, one-time charges and totals for usage by service-type - for example, local and international calls, roaming charges MMS and SMS messages. A 'total due' figure is also shown here.
The remaining pages of the bill detail date, time, duration of the different types of calls made as well as the telephone number (and destination where relevant) of the called parties.
Qtel also pointed out that for those customers already billed in advance during December 2005, (or January this year), will not be due to be charged for subscriptions until March 2006 (or April, if billed in advance in January 06). The phasing-in of monthly subscription fees will commence on February 18, 2006 and will be completed by the end of May by which time all customers will be paying subscriptions on a monthly basis.P> Dr Nasser added, "These are important changes and we will make every effort to ensure that all of our valuable customers are made aware of the changes as well as the benefits that the new bill brings. We will run a major promotional campaign in the media as well as wide distribution of leaflets and flyers to make sure all of our customers have been informed of the changes."
At the same time as the launch of the new bill, customers will also be able to access all their bill information using 'eQtel', which can be accessed through Qtel's website (www.qtel.com). eQtel registration can also be done at any of Qtel's Customer Service Centres. By registering and receiving a password for their eQtel service, customers can view and conveniently pay their bills online through credit card payment. Other options for bill payment include Direct Debit through selected banks, by visiting any of Qtel's 16 Customer Service Centres or at Post Office counters around Qatar.
