Qatar Telecom (Qtel) announced today that it is holding a strategy workshop for top managers at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Doha. The strategic management course is being conducted to improve Qtel's strategic performance, and is set to be the first of many such seminars.

The three-day seminar is being led by world-renowned strategy specialist Mel Scott, Senior Lecturer in Strategic Management at Cranfield School of Management and will run from Saturday 10th May to Monday 12th May.

Senior managers were split into two groups to ensure that delegates benefited from the intensive course.

This training comes within the overall framework of Qtel's transformation programme, Q-Turn, which sees Qtel reaffirming its commitment to investing in the development and training needs of staff, in particular of in that of senior management. The course follows the success of Qtel's recent seminar on corporate culture and customer service by Professor Eric Wichmann, formerly of Harvard University.

Speaking on the opening day of the training course, Qtel CEO Dr. Nasser Marafih commented, "We are committed to bringing the best international professionals to conduct our training seminars so that our staff receive the highest levels of training to enable them to take their experiences and new skills back to the work place."

"These training programmes will help us to be able to achieve the goals of our transformation programme and face future challenges head on," he continued.
