Doha - Doha Qatar National Bank announced that it takes pride in being the exclusive sponsor of the Souq Wagef photo exhibition held in Paris, the French capital under the patronage of Her Excellency, Sheikha Al-Mayassa Bint Hamad Al-Thani, Chairperson of Qatar's Museums Authority.
This unique photographic exhibition that is organized by Qatar's permanent delegation to UNESCO in Paris is to celebrate one of Qatar's most important cultural landmarks "Souq Wagef", which reflects the country's heritage.
Key social, cultural and business figures in Paris have been invited to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
The exhibition, organized by The Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to UNESCO, will be held at the organization's headquarters in Paris from 25 until 29 June 2007.
Mr. Ali Shareef Al Emadi, QNB's Chief Executive Officer, said: "QNB has always been an ardent supporter of arts and culture in Qatar. Our support of The Souq Wagef exhibition falls in line with QNB's strategy of supporting and encouraging the community's cultural activities that reflect the country's strong heritage and culture.
The hospitality of the Qatari people and the intricacies of their culture are mirrored in the very fabric of traditional architecture of Souq Wagef.
The bank's sponsorship of the "Souq Wagef" exhibition is a part of a group of activities it undertakes every year as part of the Bank's corporate Social responsibilities program.
The exhibition features 30 black and white, 95 x122cm photographic prints on canvas and a video projection of all the photographs in the book. The exhibition will mirror the importance of the architectural marvel that newly reconstructed Souq Wagef has come to be.
