Large- scale sale in participating retailers & variety of prizes on offer
August 18, 2014 DOHA: As part of the Qatar Summer Festival 2014, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has organized a Shopping Fun activity revolving around a large-scale sale in the country's main retail outlets including the Pearl-Qatar, The Mall, City Center-Doha, Hyatt Plaza, Al Khor Mall, and Dar Al Salam Mall, to take place from Aug. 17, to Sep. 13. In addition to the special discounts offered to visitors, there will be raffle draws on prizes and cash worth QR2.5 million.
In authorization with the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, QTA will be giving away QR740, 000 worth of cash, as well as eight Audi cars, four of which are Audi A4, while the other four are Audi Q7.
The raffle draws will take place every Saturday between 7:30pm and 8:30pm on the following days and at the specified outlets: Aug. 23 at Hyatt Plaza mall, Aug. 30 at City Center Doha mall, Sep. 6 at Dar Al Salam mall, and Sep. 13 at The Pearl-Qatar. The awards will be broadcast live on Al Rayyan TV.
"We wanted to make the Qatar Summer Festival 2014 a memorable one for our visitors and one of the ways for us to do that is to have them go home with something valuable; whether it's a good shopping deal, or a new car, it's all part of emphasizing the festive season in Qatar and making it an unforgettable occasion that will draw more visitors to return in the upcoming years and for new visitors to make their way over here to enjoy great summer offers and activities," said Rashed Al Qurese, Director of Marketing and Promotions at QTA.
The Qatar Summer Festival 2014 kicked off on Aug. 4, and will continue until Sep. 27.
In addition to the Shopping Fun activity, QTA has facilitated a number of exciting activities and events that are spread across Qatar. These include: Family Fun, an indoor 10,000sqm entertainment city with various fun-filled and exciting games and rides at the Doha Exhibition Center (DEC); Fountain Fun, on the Corniche across from Al Murjan Restaurant, where dancing fountain shows are presented during the week from 7pm to 11pm with 30-minute intervals, and on weekends from 6pm to 12pm with 45-minute intervals; Adventure Fun in Al Khor where visitors can enjoy outdoor activities from 1pm to 6pm daily,, such as, kayaking and other games, the tickets for which can be purchased from the tent outside Al Khor Mall; and SplashFun in Al Wakra where families can enjoy the inflatable Aqua Park on the beach from 3pm to 9pm daily.
The festival will conclude with a Disney On Ice show at the Qatar National Convention Center in September.
QTA has arranged for free "Park & Ride" Doha Bus shuttles to take visitors in one consecutive route, from the Q-Post parking at the Corniche with two stops. The bus first stop is at the Fountain Fun on the Corniche, and then continues its way to the Family Fun activity at DEC, operating from 3pm to 10pm on an hourly basis during the week, and from 2pm to 11pm during the weekends.
