Amman - Airport International Group (AIG) - the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) - has welcomed the arrival of Fly Jordan's first flight from Sharm El Sheikh‎ on Saturday 9 January, 2016. The reception took place in the presence of Airport International Group CEO, Mr. Kjeld Binger, Fly Jordan Chairman, His Excellency Amjad Maslamani, and the airline's Director General, Captain Basil Obeidat, in addition to several Members of Parliament and guests of honor. This step corresponds with the Group's ongoing efforts to expand its airline network and to develop route incentive schemes that encourage airlines to operate flights through QAIA.

"We would like to extend our congratulations to Fly Jordan on the launch of its operations at QAIA. We're delighted to welcome the airline to the airport's network, offering travelers more options for flights to and from Jordan and, as such, supporting the objectives of the National Tourism Strategy, as well as bolstering QAIA's standing as a transit hub. On that note, we wish Fly Jordan all the best in its future endeavors," commented Binger.

In turn, Captain Obeidat emphasized Fly Jordan crews' professionalism and readiness, pointing out that the airline began operating charter flights as of Friday 8 January, 2016, in order to meet the growing internal and external demands for these types of trips, especially from Dallas Travel & Tourism, a strategic partner of Fly Jordan. This step will not only serve the domestic tourism sector in terms of arriving and departing Jordanians, Arabs and foreign tourists alike,  but it will also boost this vital sector, especially during the current period.

Obeidat also praised Airport International Group's employees for their high professionalism and ongoing support of Fly Jordan throughout its preparation period prior to its launch. He credited them with facilitating the operation of the airline's flights through QAIA, stressing his pride at having the Group as a true partner for many years to come.
