Effat College is hosting its seventh annual Career Day on Monday March 17, 2008 under the theme of "From Generation to Generation: Passing the Torch".
The Career Development Office at Effat College organizes the Career Day every year. This event provides vital information that broadens knowledge about career development opportunities by offering lectures by influential speakers, panel discussions, and workshops. In addition, the Career Day provides a Job Fair open to new graduates, current students, and others seeking job vacancies. This year's chosen theme is "From Generation to Generation: Passing the Torch", which reflects Effat College's dedication to youth empowerment. The theme emphasizes the importance of youth's contribution in creating a break-through in society. At the same time, the theme highlights the importance of society embracing the innovations of the youth and passing on the torch.
In the Career Day's Job Fair area, representatives from different organizations accept resumes and answer questions about job openings and opportunities. In addition, there is a designated area for career counselling, CV enhancement, printing and photocopying. At the same time, the Exhibition area will feature booths and exhibits from various companies presenting their services and products. Last year, more than three hundred people attended and more than sixty companies were represented. Career Day also features speakers who usually add deep insights to the event. Among last year's speakers were Dr. Hatoon Fasi, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shugairi, Mrs. Safiya Bin Zagar, and Mrs. Sisil Rouchdy.
The Career Day for this year will take place at Effat College at 10:00am till 8:00pm to widen the chance for universities' students and employees to come over and seize the opportunity of having all these facilities under one roof.
