Consumers Now Benefit from Full HD Original Cinema Quality, SD Card Slot for Immediate Playback
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Panasonic, a major developer and contributor to the success of the Blu-ray format have introduced the DMP-BD60, the world's first Blu-ray-disc player to feature VIERA Cast and BD Live, enabling consumers instant access to the internet.
Continuing Panasonic's commitment to producing innovative technology, the DMP-BD60 Blu-ray player incorporates VIERA Link, allowing consumers to operate Panasonic audio/video components via HDMI, with one remote. The new Blu-ray player has been designed to reduce power consumption, in keeping with Panasonic's pledge to reduce the planet's carbon footprint.
"With internet penetration constantly on the rise in the region, the BD60 with its VIERA cast function will allow instant access to the internet. Consumers can now view up-loaded high definition pictures and clips on Youtube and Picassa using their Panasonic TV," said Mr. Hitesh Ojha, Product Manager, Panasonic Marketing, Middle East.
"With the expansion of the unique VIERA Cast functionality and the introduction of the industry's first Blu-ray deck, Panasonic is the leader in Blu-ray technology. Panasonic is the first to bring a Blu-ray player to the region and global market, incorporating the BD live functionality into a stand alone player."
The BD60, with its internet enabled technology allows consumer access to the internet without the use of an external box or a PC. The DMP-BD60 comes with a SD Memory card slot and USB slot, making it easy for consumers to view and share both digital still images and HD video recorded with an HD camcorder in the AVCHD format.
Employing the PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus, developed in collaboration with Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, reproduces color with twice the accuracy of conventional systems to keep colors vivid and sharp. Panasonic's new Blu-ray Disc player features a high definition audio decoder, (Dolby® Digital Plus, Dolby® TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio Essential) to take advantage of the exceptionally high quality 7.1 channel surround sound now integrated in Blu-ray Discs.
In order to produce the ultimate picture quality, Panasonic's Blu-ray players employ high precision 4:4:4 signal technology, which, working in tandem with PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus processes each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the horizontal direction to compliment vertical direction processing. P4HD (Pixel Precision Progressive Processing for HD) is another technology that contributes to the superior picture quality of the Blu-ray players. P4HD processes more than 15 billion pixels per second and applies the optimal processing to every pixel.
Panasonic's Blu-ray players utilize 16-level motion detection to categorize the image motion of each pixel into one of 16 levels; diagonal processing to detect diagonals and correct the pixels accordingly; 1080p up-conversion to up-convert content recorded in the 480i/p or 720p format to 1080p. The Blu-ray players also provide 1080/24p output, thereby reproducing cinema images from a Blu-ray Disc and DVD in their original 24p form with no need for conversion. This allows the user to enjoy cinema images in the same format used in cinema with a 1080/24p compatible TV.
Complimenting the HD audio codecs, the Blu-ray player feature 96 kHz surround re-master, a function that enhances the sound quality of CDs and other sources, and even improves the quality of the multi-channel audio data on Blu-ray Discs and DVDs. In order to obtain a reduction in power consumption the Blu-ray player use Auto Power Stand-By. If the TV is switched off or put on stand-by mode, the BD60 will automatically go from quick-start mode to stand-by mode.
