Joint research and development initiative to be set up in Vienna
To enable the world-class developer and provider of global total automation solutions conduct dedicated research on ICT enabled managed energy solutions for buildings and infrastructure
Dubai, March 6, 2011: Pacific Control Systems LLC, Dubai, today announced a joint initiative with the Vienna University of Technology (TU Vienna) to open a dedicated cloud computing lab in the university campus to carry out research and development on ICT enabled managed energy services solutions for buildings and infrastructure.
The "Pacific Controls Cloud Computing Research Lab" will enable the Dubai-headquartered world-class developer and provider of global total automation solutions engage in various strategic scientific developments. This will include R&D in enhanced virtual software services (g-bots) which would support efficient energy and facility management in buildings and infrastructure developments at reduced operational costs in turn leading to significant savings.
Dilip Rahulan, Chairman and CEO of Pacific Controls, said, "We are pleased to collaborate with Vienna University of Technology. It is our constant endeavor to support ICT enabling managed services solutions for buildings and infrastructure. At Pacific Controls, we have identified that with the virtual software technology (g-bots) a new paradigm can be created to revolutionize the way in which managed services for buildings and infrastructure in the fraternity of Energy and Facility Management can be delivered achieving substantial energy savings and operational costs."
One of the tasks of the lab directed by Prof. Schahram Dustdar of the Distributed Systems Group, will be to review the design and development strategy and roll out plan, and conduct scientific research in the field of virtual software services (g-bots) developed by Pacific Controls for deployment using ICT enabling managed services solutions for buildings and infrastructure.
Team members of the "Pacific Controls Cloud Computing Research Lab" at Vienna, will be provided access and training at the Pacific Controls R&D facilities in Dubai, India, USA, Saudi Arabia and other 20 cities where Pacific Controls intend to establish Command Control Centers for managed services. Pacific Controls will also facilitate as a part of this cooperation agreement, opportunities for students from the Vienna University of Technology to carry out internship in Pacific Controls facilities.
