Dubai, 21 September 2011: In a sterling recognition of his contribution in telecom, and steering du to new heights of success Year-on-Year, Osman Sultan, CEO, du, was chosen as the recipient of the 4th CEO Middle East Awards 2011, in a glittering ceremony held last evening at Dubai.
The CEO Awards recognise and reward outstanding success, innovation and ethics across Middle Eastern Business. The awards honoured CEO's through the appreciation of innovative business, business excellence and overall business success, plus acknowledge publicly the vital contribution made by individuals and their companies to the vibrancy of business across the region.
Expressing his gratitude while receiving the prestigious award, Osman Sultan, CEO, du, said: "I am deeply touched with this honour. Osman Sultan is well regarded as an industry visionary, and is the recipient of several other awards in recognition of his work. In 2010 he was voted Master Class CEO of the year by the GCC Chamber of Commerce and industry. He has also been honoured by Comms Mea with the prestigious 'Lifetime Achievement Award' in 2009, Life Time Achievement award from MECOM, among several others.
Under the stewardship of Osman Sultan, du has become the fastest growing telecom company in the UAE with a market share of over 44 % in mobile services in just five years of operations. Under his leadership, Net profit before royalty increased 51% year on year and is growing across multiple product and service categories.
