Orange Jordan recently co-hosted the Amman meetup of Facebook’s annual F8 developer conference, which took place through a live stream from San José, California on April 18 and 19. Holding the meetup at its BIG premises at the Grow Building at the King Hussein Business Park on the first day of the conference, Orange Jordan was selected as a startup community leader in Amman, one of the 45 cities invited to co-host an event that featured keynote addresses from Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg and other company leaders. The local event was an opportunity for developers and businesses to come together to explore the future of technology and to share experiences and ideas.
Under the patronage and in the attendance of Her Excellency Minister of ICT and Minister of Public Sector Development Majd Shweikeh, Orange Jordan hosted the event to help local developers learn how Facebook connects the world through products and innovation.
Commenting on the occasion, Orange Jordan CEO Jérôme Hénique said, “It is with great pleasure that we at Orange Jordan co-host such an important and educational event at BIG for the first time in Jordan. Our company and Facebook share a common goal, and that is to connect people to all that is essential to them wherever they are, no matter the time, and with the best quality. Our support for the meetup stems from our plans to facilitate the local introduction of the newest technological trends seen around the world, to contribute to the growth of economy and wellbeing of Jordanians, and to bridge digital divides.”
Orange Jordan is continuously committed to supporting conferences like F8, as a result of its five-year strategy Essentials 2020, which focuses on the development of the technology sector. Likewise, through its corporate social responsibility strategy, the company seeks to be a trusted operator by serving as a guide to the digital world, where it endeavors to remain at the forefront in the new, fast-paced era of technological advances and interconnectivity.
