Successful pilot for 500 partners, now to rollout across Europe, the Middle East and Africa
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - April 3, 2005 - Oracle today announced it is offering free sales training for partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). A successful pilot has already trained over 500 partners across 15 countries in 9 months. The programme has been designed to ensure partners receive training at the same time as Oracle's own salesforce and provide them with the skills and knowledge to succeed in today's market.
The free training includes two main courses:
Sales Opportunity & Management - a two-day workshop focussing on essential best practice techniques for the effective management of sales and pre-sales opportunities
Partner Induction Bootcamp - this induction course, which lasts on average three days, covers a useful range of core topics including: full product overview and training; how to get the most out of the resources available through the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN); how to work with Oracle; and sales opportunity and management foundation.
"Oracle's partners are an integral part of the Oracle economy," said Stein Surlien, Vice President, Alliances & Channels, Oracle EMEA. "By offering two-and-three day training programs, Oracle is underlining its commitment to the partner ecosystem, whilst also helping ensure that our OPN members have the best possible chance of sales success."
Initial response to Oracle's free sales training programme has been overwhelmingly positive. "With our participation in the Oracle Sales Opportunity & Management Workshop we can use additional, successful strategies for developing opportunities in complex sales processes. Due to this, we are able to achieve more business opportunities with higher profits within shorter times," said Daniel Uscherowitsch, Sales Director, Up to data Professional Services GmbH.
Sales Opportunity & Management courses have taken place in: Belgium, Denmark, Dubai (ME), France, Germany, Greece, Morocco, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Turkey and the UK, underlining high levels of interest in working with Oracle. Additionally, Partner Induction Bootcamps have taken place in: Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Egypt, Latvia, Morocco and Portugal and both courses are set to rollout across the region (Dubai is hosting the Partner Induction Bootcamp during early May).
Additional training will become available later in 2005, including Presentation & Negotiation Skills and a Partner Induction Bootcamp Level 2 course which will focus on case studies and workshops.
In addition to the above corporate initiatives, Oracle ME has recently launched a regional initiative called Partner Implementation Bootcamp (E-Business suite and Technology), covering Pre-Sales and Implementation resources, designed to sharpen the skills and keep them abreast on the latest releases and features of its products. The implementation bootcamps are complimentary to Oracle certified partners.
Commenting on the initiative, Husam Dajani, Vice President, Oracle, Middle East and Africa said, "We take great pride in our partners and will do everything to help them live up to the Oracle standards of conducting business. We have a real partnership -- for us to look good, they must look good."
