New Website First Step In Roll Out of Enhanced Brand to Customers in Oman

Muscat, Saturday 13th February, 2010: Omantel has launched its new integrated website - www.omantel.om - that gives customers a single point of online contact for all their requirements for mobile and fixed line telephony and internet services.

The new portal is now live and customers can already log on to the new website to enjoy an enhanced customer experience.  It is the first practical step of the phased roll out of the new enhanced brand and "Together" tagline Omantel announced last week.

By using the new integrated site - that replaces the previous individual websites for both Omantel and Oman Mobile - customers will be able to undertake a broad range of services on the new easy to use and navigate portal.

Services are easy to find and categorized under home and personal; business and traveler and further broken down into mobile, fixed and internet services. 

Customers will be able to use www.omantel.om to top up their prepaid accounts, add new accounts, pay their fixed, internet and mobile bills as well as view and print out their bills. All customers will need is a single password and this can be the same they are already using as part of previous Omantel or Oman Mobile online services.

They will be able to access other services such as downloading ringtones, wallpapers and many more.  It will also provide detailed information about the comprehensive range of services that Omantel offers under its two brands, Omantel and Oman Mobile.

Announcing the launch of the new website, Sr. Manager Online at  Consumer Business Unit Rasha Ahmed Al Jamali said: "The new website, with enhanced features and navigation, is the first practical step in rolling out the new enhanced brand".

In conjunction to the web launch, we will also simplify and align the branding of our products. Going forward, all our products will use the same typeface. For easy navigation and  communication, we will also label our mobile products with an orange bar and our fixed products with a blue bar. This is to reinforce that Omantel, under its enhanced brand, offers the widest choice of complimentary mobile and fixed services. .

Logging on to www.omantel.om will also provide our valued customers with information about the latest offers and promotions from Omantel and Oman Mobile.  These include the recent changes made to Hayyak pre-paid services that deliver additional benefits to customers and include a lower off-peak rates reduced from 45 to 39 baisa a minute.

This is coupled with the introduction of a new daily off-peak time for Hayyak pre-paid services starting from 8pm in the evening to 6am the following morning.  The new rates will also apply to Fridays and to National Holidays.

Availing Hayyak has never been as attractive as now. Customers that subscribe only need to pay RO 2 and for this they get a double benefit of RO 2 talktime value and RO 2 sms value.

The enhanced brand will also be highly visible in the coming week during the Tour of Oman, for which Omantel is a gold sponsor, with the enhanced brand logo and tagline featuring on roadside banners, branded support vehicles for the teams and on other materials during the week-long event.
