Muscat: 31st January, 2011 - Omantel, the leading telecommunications company in Oman, has announced that it has entered into a partnership with Bin Mirza International (BMI) to provide wireless internet access (WiFi) throughout all Second Cup coffee shops across the capital.
The new partnership means that tens of thousands of coffee drinkers can now easily access their emails and browse the internet free of charge when they visit any Second Cup outlet.
Omantel is committed to ensuring as widespread access as possible to the internet across Oman and this announcement is the latest initiative towards achieving that objective. Second Cup customers with WiFi equipped laptops, PDAs or smartphones can enjoy free WiFi services for up to a one hour linked to purchase to surf the internet.
Omantel's hotspot service is based on Wireless Fidelity WiFi technology which is currently the prevalent wireless technology for mobile computing and is now a common feature for high-end mobile phones and PDA's.

The partnership between Bin Mirza International and Omantel will shortly be further strengthened when the coffee chain opens a fourth outlet in the telecoms giant's new headquarters in Mawaleh.
