OHD is pleased to announce the signing of two noteworthy hotel management deals on the 18th of February, 2007, in Oman. With these agreements, OHD has taken another major step towards its target of 10,000 guestrooms by 2010.

In the first deal related to Oman, Samih Sawiris, Chairman of OHD, and Sheikh Nasser Al Nowais, Chairman of Rotana Hotels, Suites and Resorts, signed an agreement for Rotana to manage the five-star hotel at OHD's major project in Salalah. This is the second OHD hotel to be managed by Rotana, the first of which is at The Cove in Ras Al Khaimah, U.A.E. The new 350-room property in Salalah includes three specialty restaurants, a spa, and other leisure and sporting options.

The Salalah development is one of four OHD projects in Oman, where OHD has been invited by the local government to develop a total of 22 million square meters. The projects range in size and function and cater to local and foreign vacationers as well as entrepreneurs.

In the second agreement, Samih Sawiris and Henry Giscard d'Estaing, Chairman of Club Med, signed for Club Med to manage a new hotel at the company's second project in Egypt in Taba Heights, Sinai. The new hotel will have 394 guestrooms, including 60 family suites, and a private beach, and benefit from the resorts other attractions including free resort-wide transportation, an 18-hole championship golf course, and international marina. The longstanding relationship between OHD and Club Med includes a property at El Gouna, OHD's flagship project, and a joint venture to develop real estate components adjacent to Club Med properties worldwide.
