In its 9th consecutive year

Amman: In the presence of employees and guests and for the 9th consecutive year, Nuqul Group organized its Quality Day under the theme "Creative Sustainability" and rewarded winning projects. The event was held at the Children's Museum and was attended by the Vice Chairman, the CEO and key representatives from Nuqul Group including the board of directors along with the jury who judged the shortlisted projects according to specific criteria in the field of sustainability.

Nuqul Group's Vice Chairman, Ghassan Nuqul welcomed attendees and confirmed the Group's renewed commitment to our mission of being a sustainable corporate citizen. He stated: "this year's "Quality Day" is distinctive by all means; it coincides with our 60th anniversary and mirrors a milestone in our history reflecting our journey of growing together.   

Nuqul added: "The theme for this year is creative sustainability, it carries with it our promise and the ambition to grow while positively impacting our communities and the environment that we work in, this always has been and will continue to be our driver. Creative sustainability will definitely lead to innovation and unprecedented solutions on both the process and product levels."

Director of Operations Support, Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh summarized Nuqul Group's work in sustainability and emphasized the impact of imagination leading to creativity. Abu Ghazaleh presented statistics from the Group's latest records such as the 2.9% reduction in water consumption, and 5% reduction in fuel consumption along with manufacturing and non manufacturing savings across Nuqul Group's functions. The winner of this year's Quality Day award was Al Sindian plant in Egypt which falls under Nuqul Tissue's umbrella and the project focused on recovering fibers and water from tissue making with a positive impact on water emissions and solid wastes. The second reward was given to Fine Dubai's project which aimed at cost optimization in the field of distribution and transportation, whereby Fine Dubai piloted an efficient routing project leading to a reduction in cost and environmental impact associated with transportation of goods.     

During the event, Nuqul Group's CEO- Salim Karadsheh talked about sustainability which was followed by the announcement of the winners who were judged by the panel: H.E. Malek Al Kabariti-Chairman of the National Electric Power Company, Ruba Al Zoubi- Director of Business Development, Communication and Local Development and the Director of Environmental Sustainability at Jordan's Development and Free Zones Commission (DFZC), Raji Hattar- Chief Sustainability and Compliance Officer at Aramex, Dima Bibi- CEO of Injaz and Esam Al Qararah- Head of UNIDO Operations in Jordan.
