Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED 10) and Sentinel 5 other main Highlights at the Show

DUBAI: 14 November, 2006 - Novell Middle East today announced that it will be showcasing its suite of secure identity management solutions at the Dubai Internet City Community Zone at Gitex Dubai 2006, the Middle East's largest ICT exhibition to be held from 18-22 November, 2006.

Novell's identity management suite includes a range of solutions that help integrate, secure and manage organisation's information assets. Novell will display SENTINEL 5, a cross-platform audit monitoring system that combines identity and access management with security information and event management. It will also demonstrate its SLED 10 (Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop) live.

At Gitex, Novell will be launching its Identity Management Bundle. Tuned for the Middle East's banking sector, the bundle is a highly scalable solution that offers clients the flexibility of picking and choosing connectors to suit their core systems.

Gerard McDonnell, Director Novell Middle East: "With the rapidly growing pressure on CIO's in the region to improve their IT governance and security standards while reducing their costs and complexity, it is no surprise that security, identity management and compliance are high on their agenda these days. Novell's solutions can considerably reduce security risks by providing an efficient and cost-effective solution for automating changes to user-access rights, passwords and profiles. Our standards-based solutions enable centralised event logging, monitoring and reporting across different IT systems, which help organisations meet audit and compliance requirements."

The solutions can also help corporates in the Middle East respond effectively to a host of recent market changes. At a time when corporate mergers and partnerships are rife, Novell's Identity Manager enables simple and seamless system access for employees, partners and customers to different IT systems.

"Novell is aggressively expanding investments and operations within the Middle East and GITEX is a key event for us," McDonnell said. "The exhibition is a great opportunity for us to meet with key decision makers from across the region and beyond, share common ideas with them and better understand their challenges, trends, requirements and customer-centric services that can add value."

Novell will also be launching the Novell Open Workgroup Suite (NOWS), a complete Workgroup Suite for the small and medium business (SMB) sector. The bundle includes Novell's latest Linux Desktop, OS SLED 10, Resource Management software, Collaboration software, and a Linux Server, which provides a cost saving of 40%, when compared to alternate solutions.

Novell will be located at the Dubai Internet City Community Zone at Gitex Dubai 2006 in Concourse 2, between Exhibiton Halls 8 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
