Solution to empower employees with real time information on critical items such as leave and salary

Jeddah, April 20, 2006: Nissan Middle East has gone live with Satyam's implementation of a Human Capital Management (HCM) Solution.

Satyam's solution is based on mySAP ERP HR Suite. The uniqueness of this solution lies in the fact that this implementation is a first-time combination of mySAP ECC 5.0 and EP 6.0. that encompasses an application portfolio based on core HR modules such as master data, payroll, time and organisation management, and portals for Employees Self Service (ESS) and Mangers Self Service (MSS). The solution will empower employees at Nissan with real time information on items such as leave and salary.

Speaking about the implementation, Mr. Virendra Aggarwal, Director and Senior Vice President, Satyam, Asia Pacific and MEIA Operations, said: "We are pleased with the success of this project and are delighted to have worked along with Nissan-ME in this landmark implementation. Nissan's leadership position in the region is largely due to its commitment to customer and employee satisfaction and it is reminiscent in their IT adoption processes. With this HCM solution going live, our association with Nissan has been further strengthened. We are very optimistic about our growing relationship with them in the Middle East."

Satyam's mySAP-based HCM implementation has replaced Nissan's custom-made legacy system. Nissan ME has recognised that their relationship with Satyam has delivered superior value, improved service, and an innovative application environment to improve and differentiate Nissan's business.

Commenting on the implementation, Syed Shahnawaz Mehdi, IT Manager, Nissan Middle East, said: "The objective of this implementation is to provide our employees with a portal and base for HR-centric activities. We are already witnessing the benefits of the solution. Our employees can now access personal data such as their leave, salaries. Satyam has demonstrated an exceptional track record in implementing SAP-based solutions. With multiple global and local SAP references and unmatched domain expertise in the HR area, Satyam was the obvious choice of HCM solution partner.  We look forward to a sustained and fruitful relationship with Satyam."

Nissan went live with the implementation in February this year at Nissan UAE, and aims to leverage the tie-up in other areas of the region. Nissan plans to extend the relationship to cover other HR activities such as training, appraisals, and recruitment.

Earlier this year, Satyam announced that it has signed a five year deal to maintain, support, and enhance the application portfolio for Nissan North America. The deal encompasses an application portfolio spanning multiple business functions, multiple plants and locations and multiple business units. Nissan has selected Satyam to manage all its mission critical business applications, in its key North American market.

Satyam is acknowledged as a leader in the Enterprise Business Solutions space and has one of the largest enterprise applications practices among leading IT vendors. The completion of this implementation at Nissan further consolidates its leadership position. Satyam has a significant footprint in the Middle East with a customer base that includes more than 150 high profile conglomerates and many significant names getting rapidly added to the list. The Middle East is a critical component of Satyam's global strategy and the company plans to open regional offices shortly to reinforce its commitment to the region.
