Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, Dubai is delighted to announce the appointment of Didier Laufenburger as Executive Chef.
Dubai (United Arab Emirates), 5th January 2014. In his second appointment at a Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts property, Didier Laufenburger has joined as Executive Chef at Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, Dubai.
The French national started his career as a chef in a small boutique family hotel in the Alsace region, in eastern France. After three years he joined a Michelin-Star restaurant in Mulhouse, a picturesque Alsatian town in eastern France, where he developed his passion for food and enhanced his technical skills.
Laufenburger's wanderlust saw him leave his native Alsace some years later. He embarked upon a culinary journey that would take him to various places including the United Kingdom, Mexico, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
In 1996, Laufenburger opened his own two restaurants in Kaysersberg, France. The experience tremendously improved his business acumen, administration knowledge and direct handling of guests.
His employment with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts commenced in 2007, when Laufenburger seized the opportunity to join Mövenpick Hotel Lausanne as Executive Chef. The appointment at Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach comes after almost six years in Lausanne and Laufenburger is very excited about gaining Middle Eastern experience in a vibrant city such as Dubai.
