MOTORISTS CAN SWITCH TO NEW PLATES ON RENEWAL

Motorists can now get the sleek new alphabet coded number plates when they register cars at Tasjeel's Al Ghusais and Al Barsha sites.

Tasjeel, the highly successful vehicle test and registration service launched jointly by EPPCO and Dubai Police, is offering the new number plates and has hired additional staff to cope with the demand at both sites which are open from 7 am to 9 pm.

The new plates, starting from A,B,C,D, mean that motorists will be able to keep the same easy-to-read registration number for a longer time.

Hussain Sultan, Managing Director - EPPCO, said: "With the newly adapted machinery and embossing tools and dies, the manufacture of a set of plates is quick and simple. The sites have highly efficient number plate removal and fixing operations in a special canopied area outside for the greater convenience of customers."

Ayas Bin Hendi, Tasjeel Manager, added: "We have more than 14 different services at all our sites and we are adding more and more services under one roof so customers can get everything sorted in one go."

Tasjeel now operates five sites in Dubai between Al Ghusais and the Jebel Ali Free Zone and employs more than 125 staff. It recently began safety testing of Dubai Creek's ABRA water taxis for Dubai Municipality.
