Dubai, United Arab Emirates: ENOC Group, recently gathered 150 stakeholders and representatives of public and private entities to understand on-ground challenges in implementing CSR and to gather insights on CSR opportunities through collaboration, partnerships and innovation. The sessions, which took place at ENOC’s Headquarters, were spread over a period of four days.

The purpose of the sessions was to provide a platform for representatives to discuss the need for a corporate culture that integrates social responsibility practices in its strategy, to achieve a sustainable business model that creates value for its stakeholders and society.

These sessions also provided the base to help select key CSR focus areas for ENOC’s own CSR initiatives, while building enriching partnerships and crafting an implementation strategy, in line with the UAE National Agenda 2021 and socio-economic objectives.

Partners and industry experts from the UAE Ministry of Energy, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Future Foundation, Community Development Authority, Etisalat, Mubadala, Tyco Fire & Security in addition to NGOs and renowned academic institutions attended the sessions.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group Chief Executive Officer of ENOC, said: “We are committed to taking forward the legacy of our nation’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, by creating more opportunities that support our community. CSR is a core component to the success of our organisation, and it is also the fabric that binds our society together. This is why engaging our stakeholders in these discussions is crucial.”

During the session, participants also debated the impact of CSR initiatives on their businesses and operations, while keeping in mind interests of their employees, shareholders, clients, regulators, and members of the community.

With the help of innovative e-polling after the strategic engagement, the industry experts were also able to identify perceptions of ENOC's CSR performance, and discuss emerging trends and opportunities for CSR in the UAE.

ENOC Group has an inclusive approach towards CSR and has set up various initiatives to engage its employees in voluntary services towards the nation. The CSR initiatives at ENOC are led by the CSR Steering Committee that ensures adherence to policies and guidelines in the CSR process, by monitoring its alignment with the ENOC mission, vision and core values.
