Al Sayer: -The report documents NBK's CSR initiatives and activities during 2008

Our annual contributions in support of social causes in 2008 exceeded KD 11 million

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), the leading bank in Kuwait and highest rated bank in the Middle East, recently released its second annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report concurrently with the release of the Bank's 2008 annual financial report.

Depicting the latest 12-month episode of a decades-old tradition of community involvement and a long-standing legacy in social responsibility, the recently released 16 pages CSR report sheds light on the Bank's various philanthropic, social, educational as well as sports-related initiatives and contributions throughout the year 2008. The report provides a further testament of NBK's multi - lateral leading role, which constitutes a pioneering example for the Kuwaiti private sector's serious social involvement.

NBK Vice Chairman and Head of "The Bank & Community Committee, Nasser Musaed Al Sayer said that  the 2008 CSR report aims at documenting NBK's initiatives and contributions in the field of corporate social responsibility, which has always been the acme of the Bank's priorities.

NBK's annual contributions during 2008 in support of the various social causes have exceeded KD 11 million.

"Being the veteran and premier financial organization in Kuwait and the Middle East, We, at the National Bank of Kuwait, take our role in the community very seriously and never lose sight of the fact that we constitute an integral part of the Kuwaiti society as well as its national history", Al Sayer said.

"As a good corporate citizen, NBK's community involvement is not limited to being a major promoter of economic and financial awareness in the country through the various reports and studies it regularly distributes in the local and regional media. During 2008, NBK sponsored and organized a number of conferences and symposiums, including NBK's International Symposium on the latest global economic and political developments with the Honorable William Jefferson Clinton, 42nd President of the United States being the guest speaker of this event." Al Sayer concluded.
