Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Welcomed by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, supported by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the recognition of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the UAE capital is hosting “Morocco in Abu Dhabi 2018” in its third edition, from March 6th to 19th at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

The organization of “Morocco in Abu Dhabi 2018” comes in line with the objective of reinforcing ties between the UAE and Kingdom of Morocco. The event is set to enhance political, economic, scientific, touristic and cultural relationships, and introduce the country’s communities to the inherent Moroccan culture and heritage as one of the Kingdom’s cornerstones in history and civilization.

H.E. Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni, Federal National Council Member and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the event, said: “Following the directives of our wise leadership, welcomed by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and supported by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the recognition of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the UAE Capital is organizing Morocco in Abu Dhabi for the third year in a row, following the exceptional success of the first two editions, highlighting the strong and historic ties between the UAE and the Kingdom of Morocco.”

H.E. Al Yabhouni announced the successful completion of all the preparations to host this momentous event in the capital of the UAE, offering the country’s citizens and residents a unique opportunity to learn about Morocco’s authentic civilization, culture and traditional heritage and to educate future generations on the importance of preserving its heritage. The event aims to instill the principles of tolerance and love which are the foundation of the values set by the UAE’s parents, grandparents and ancestors.

Morocco in Abu Dhabi 2018 offers visitors a great opportunity to explore Morocco's rich cultural heritage in architecture, music, art, and cuisine, in addition to customs, traditions, fashion and the Moroccan Heritage Museum.

This year's event celebrates innovative and creative youths, adding to the platform a flair of evolution and modernity reflecting the creative minds and worlds of the younger generation, where the Design and Youth Gallery is inspired by traditional architecture as a place of artistic expression. Additionally, the event will celebrate the best of Islamic architectural art that has progressed in Morocco more than anywhere else in the Arab world.

For traditional industry enthusiasts, “Morocco in Abu Dhabi” will offer the chance to explore and discover the skilled genius and gifted talents of Moroccan craftsmanship across many handicrafts and traditional artistries, translating the old heritage, the Arabic Islamic legacy.

Fashion lovers will be able to witness the distinctive ceremonial rituals of women at Moroccan weddings.

Gourmet connoisseurs can indulge in a refined blend of flavors and culinary conceptions presented by renowned Moroccan chefs.

For the first time, the Museum of Moroccan Heritage will present history and antiquities lovers with rare and unusual display pieces, reflecting Morocco’s rich history and civilization, rooted in Arabic history.

“Morocco in Abu Dhabi” is open to the general public from 7th to 19th March 2018 between 3:00pm and 9:00pm, and this year’s edition is a magnificent continuation of the previous two years’ tremendous success, attracting a wide audience from UAE nationals and residents.
