CEO of Enterprise Ireland addresses aspiring leaders from the Young Leaders Program

Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD), an innovative leadership program designed to develop national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of the UAE, has announced that it has recently concluded the third edition of the Blue Ocean Forum, the quarterly networking event that promotes discussion on challenges and opportunities faced by the private sector with an aim to achieve sustainable development from a global point of view.

Frank Ryan, Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Ireland, was the keynote speaker for the new session of the Blue Ocean Forum, which was attended by the participants from the Young Leaders Program. The Blue Ocean Forum is a central component of the Young Leaders Program, which is a level of MBRPLD that aims to qualify young leaders through training programs and workshops, in line with the strategic plans and aspirations of Dubai.

Adel Al Shared, CEO of MBRPLD said: "As part of MBRPLD's mandate, we are focused on creating opportunities that will enable our program participants to meet and interact with high profile global leaders so as to help them benefit from the experience and knowledge of these eminent personalities. The Young Leaders program participants seemed to have gained immensely from Mr. Frank Ryan's highly insightful session, which emphasised various aspects of modern day leadership."

Kholood Al Thani, participant, said, "I am thankful to MBRPLD for regularly creating opportunities for us to closely interact with distinguished international leaders. Such sessions help us broaden our outlook and see things through a different perspective, which I believe is an essential requirement to be a successful and inspirational leader."

The Blue Ocean Forum has been conceptualised as one of the Young Leaders Program's seven components, which also include Executive Programs; Work Projects; Workshops; Personal Development Plan; Personal Coaching; and Virtual Learning Resource Centres. Previously known as the Young Leaders Networking Event, the Blue Ocean Forum is held up to four times in a year.

The Young Leaders Program is one of four MBRPLD levels that seek to identify the country's most promising young nationals and prepare them to successfully manage the future strategic initiatives of the local sectors. It is developed in line with the vision and directions of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; the initiator of the MBRPLD initiative who has underscored the critical importance of a highly competent national professional workforce to ensure the country's global sustainability.

The applications for the program were submitted through MBRPLD`s website (www.mbrpld.ae). Further details of the program and the evaluation process are also available on the website.

Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development (MBRPLD):
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development (MBRPLD) is an innovative leadership program designed to develop future national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of the United Arab Emirates.  The long-term training program, initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, consists of four programs: Young Leaders, Promising Leaders, Government Leaders, and the Director General Majlis Program.

The MBRPLD strategy, which involves scouting the country for the most promising young nationals and preparing them to take charge of the UAE's future development initiatives, has been widely recognized for its critical role in the professional development of current government leaders.  The program has recently been bolstered by alliances with world-class institutions Duke Corporate Education and INSEAD, the business school of the world, in a move to further develop MBRPLD's comprehensive training schedule and expand its educational resources.

The program was launched in 2003 according to a long-term multi-tiered plan to ensure the ongoing development of leaders in all governmental institutions; to ensure the development of leaders with world-class skills and expertise; to increase the ability to retain highly qualified employees; and to make good use of the experience and potential of current leaders.
