Forum focuses on western outlook on emerging 'Dubai brand'
Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD), an innovative leadership program designed to develop national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of the UAE, has announced that it has recently concluded the second edition of the Blue Ocean Forum, which focused on the western outlook on the emerging 'Dubai brand.' The Blue Ocean Forum is a quarterly networking event that promotes discussion on challenges and opportunities faced by the private sector and aims to achieve sustainable development from a global point of view.
Some 30 aspiring leaders from the Young Leaders Program attended the Blue Ocean Forum, a central component of the Young Leaders Program, which is a level of MBRPLD that aims to qualify young leaders through training programs and workshops, in line with the strategic plans and aspirations of Dubai.
Duke CEO Kim Taylor-Thompson, one of the world's leading figures in leadership development who was the Forum's key speaker, commented: "MBRPLD has successfully created a platform that promotes sustainable leadership development in line with the strategic goals of Dubai Strategic Plan. I was particularly impressed with the aggressive participation of each of the young leaders during the forum, wherein we had a very lively discussion on western perspectives on Dubai's growing reputation as an international brand."
Adel Al Shared, Director of MBRPLD said: "Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development is the premier organisation dedicated to the cultivation of the UAE's human resource potential. As part of our mandate, we continue to seek new ways to address leadership issues in all leadership sectors, in accordance with the Dubai Strategic Plan and the rapid transformation of our society. The Young Leaders Program has been carefully fine tuned to offer highly topical learning components such as the Blue Ocean Forum. I am also very pleased with the performance of the participants, who have responded splendidly to the program inputs and activities and are showing signs of great progress with their leadership competency."
The Blue Ocean Forum has been conceptualised as one of the Young Leaders Program's seven components, which also include Executive Programs; Work Projects; Workshops; Personal Development Plan; Personal Coaching; and Virtual Learning Resource Centres. Previously known as the Young Leaders Networking Event, the Blue Ocean Forum is held up to four times in a year.
The Young Leaders Program is one of four MBRPLD levels that seek to identify the country's most promising young nationals and prepare them to successfully manage the future strategic initiatives of the local sectors. It is developed in line with the vision and directions of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; the initiator of the MBRPLD initiative who has underscored the critical importance of a highly competent national professional workforce to ensure the country's global sustainability.
