Dubai - The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has announced its participation in 36th GITEX Technology Week under the federal e-government stand, which will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 16-20 October 2016. MoF’s participation reflects its commitment to introduce its smart and electronic services, and strengthen communication channels with customers.

During GITEX, MoF will showcase a range of new and highly developed electronic and smart services, and will launch an exciting new technology aimed at developing and modernising IT infrastructure.

GITEX is considered as a global platform for information technology, and MoF seeks to establish effective communication to attend to customers’ needs, which will in turn strengthen the level of government services provided. A number of interactive workshops will be held on the most used and popular smart services, under the theme “Customer’s Voice”. These workshops will be conducted by service providers and MoF employees who are familiar with customer enquiries in the presence of heads of departments. MoF will introduce participants to all developments and updates related to the smart services.

Commenting on its participation, HE Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of MoF stressed the Ministry’s commitment to participate in leading technology events with high impact on users and the public, to review the latest software and smart services developments. These events give participants the opportunity to meet with innovators in IT fields, exchange experience on the smart shift, and take advantage of the best leading practices to develop a financial management system that saves users and customers’ time and effort, while maintaining high levels of security.

HE Al Khoori added: “The Ministry of Finance continues its effort to deliver the best and most innovative electronic and smart services, strengthen communication channels with customers to identify their needs, as well as introduce new features to elevate the level of desired service and raise customers’ level of awareness. The Ministry also seeks, through its participation in ‘GITEX Technology Week’, to communicate with its partners and strengthen cooperation by developing strategic partnerships in fields of exchange of information.”

As a compliment to its participation in GITEX Technology Week 2016, the Ministry launched ‘MOFSNAP’ on Snapchat to strengthen its e-participation and share its live experience from the exhibition. This is to reflect the Ministry’s vision and objectives to provide excellent services which will help in maximising customer satisfaction. MoF’s team also developed an e-questionnaire designed to measure customer satisfaction and evaluate their experience.

The 36th GITEX Technology Week will be held under the theme “Re-Imagining Realities”, to redefine how technology can transform businesses through cutting-edge showcases, international keynotes and dignitaries from around the globe in attendance, through its interactive Immersive Tech section.  From VR headsets, to AR tools used in live surgery, GITEX is set to demonstrate how a new view of reality can change lives and businesses. This year, GITEX will include new sectors such as augmented reality, virtual reality and artificial intelligence, AdTech solutions, wearables and smart fabrics, vertical farming, space technology and autonomous vehicles.
