MobiNil & Citibank Egypt Offer New Cash Bill Payment Service for Postpaid Subscribers
Wednesday, March 17, 2004
MobiNil, Egypt's leading mobile operator, and Citibank Egypt, a member of Citigroup, have introduced best -in-class technology that supports MobiNil postpaid subscribers' payment of cash bills through a free bill payment machine service available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
The new service, available for all MobiNil postpaid subscribers, assures payment flexibility through a choice of payment locations including retail outlets, shopping malls and Citibank branches. Lengthy queues are eliminated and the deposit process is fast. Citibank customers also benefit through the ability to consolidate other payments, including telephone bills, mobile phone bills, cable channel subscriptions and insurance installments.
The touch screen system allows for payment within seconds. The screens are programmed in Arabic and English and an onsite personal assistant is available to offer first-time users any help they might need. The customer is only required to provide his or her mobile telephone number and the amount of cash being deposited. The payment is reflected the day following the actual transaction, even during weekends, and no charges will be deducted from the payment.
Osman Sultan, President and CEO of MobiNil commented: " We are pleased to offer our postpaid subscribers a new option of bill payment that is an addition to our wide range of existing payment methods that have all been designed with a view to providing utmost comfort and speed for our subscribers".
Karim Mahmoud, Head of Citigroup Global Transaction Services in Egypt, said, "We are delighted to partner with MobiNil, in order to provide excellence in payment services to customers. This is an efficient and innovative solution to address Egypt's cash culture needs, with convenience and speed.".
