Bahrain's unique tourism attractions and heritage promoted
Manama, 20 January 2012: As part of its aim to promote Bahrain's tourism initiatives, the Ministry of Culture - Tourism Sector is participating at the Bahrain International Air Show under the patronage of his Majesty the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa which commenced today at the Sakhir Air Base, and will run until Saturday 21st of January.
The Ministry of Culture - Tourism Sector will have its own stand at the event, which is taking place for the second time, adding a touch of culture and heritage to the prestigious event, and at the same time provide guests, visitors and residents with the opportunity to learn more about Bahrain's tourism sector and what it has to offer. Through the various tourist attractions the Kingdom has to offer, visitors to the stand will enjoy learning the long history and heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain especially with Manama being selected as the Capital of Arab Culture 2012.
Commenting on the event, Assistant Undersecretary of Tourism Mrs Nada Ahmed Yaseen said: "The Tourism Sector continuously seeks to participate in local exhibitions and events, building a strong presence to introduce its visitors to what the Kingdom of Bahrain has to offer from history, culture and heritage in order to enhance and stimulate the tourism sector and spread awareness about our various activities and attractions throughout the year. With visitors coming to the International Air Show from across the world, the event provides us with the ideal platform to showcase the numerous initiatives of the Tourism Sector and our efforts in promoting this sector to the rest of the world".
The three-day event is expected to attract a large number of visitors from across the Gulf over the three day period and will feature a range of spectacular entertainment including diverse flying displays, on ground family attractions and entertainment as well as a heritage section displaying the Kingdoms vast Art & Crafts.
