With a strong new flying start in 2013, confirmed by major deals along 2013 year in Asia and Africa, Thomson Broadcast has started begin 2014 a new DVB-T2 network upgrade project in Saudi Arabia.

In 2013 Thomson Broadcast supported by its new industrial owner Arelis, has won major deals. Beginning the year strongly with a large-scale DTT network extension agreement, Thomson Broadcast has signed major deals along the year in Russia ending the year with a delivery for a new deployment in Africa. 2014 gets again Thomson Broadcast off to a flying start with this DVB-T2 upgrade project in Saudi Arabia.

The initial DVB-T network deployed by Thomson Broadcast from 2008 onwards on 77 sites is planned to switch progressively to DVB-T2 to offer additional services. With a long experience on digital deployments, Thomson Broadcast was one of the first companies worldwide to offer advanced DVB-T2 support in the United Kingdom which allowed major spectrum savings and the capability to deliver HD and 3D services.

During Cabsat 2014 exhibition on the French Pavillon booth B5-43, Thomson Broadcast is highlighting its high-power Futhura TV Transmitter series for drastic energy savings and long-term reliability benefiting from latest Thomson innovation. Futhura series offers in a single cabinet up to 11.6 kW. Its leading edge design is constantly being improved to offer unique DVB-T2 advanced features including Peak Average Power Ration - PAPR- for tone reservation and unique Digital Adaptive Pre-correction for automatic real-time linear and non-linear pre-corrections. As a reference in the medium-power TV transmitter market, Elite 100 GreenPower range will be presented and its outstanding benefits demonstrated. Its modular design and easy maintenance procedures allow any network extension under any conditions.
