Muscat, Oman - A large number of companies have extended their support to the 4th Middle East Artificial Lift Forum (MEALF), which will be held at the Shangri-La's Barr Al-Jissah Resort & Spa in Muscat on February 19-20, 2007.

Al Rawahy explained that the two-day forum will discuss the latest developments in the field as industry experts meet to share best practices, experiences and case studies related to the application of artificial lift technologies. He pointed out that there is a strong interest in artificial lift all over the world as evidenced by the growing number of local and international participants who have signed up for the forum.

Al Rawahy revealed that more than 20 papers will be presented at the forum, and the speakers will be made up of artificial lift experts from leading companies including Petroleum Development Oman, Saudi Aramco, Total Canadian Nexen Petroleum Yemen, Zenith Oilfield Technology, and Occidental of Oman, among others.
The presentations will focus on a wide variety of topics including Beam Pumping (BP), Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP) optimization and challenges for high-volume wells, Gas Lift selection and design, as well as Progressive Cavity Pumps (PCP) runlife and performance. According to Al Rawahy, the forum will be preceded by training workshops on Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs), Gas Lifting (GL), and Beam Pumps (BPs) systems and applications.
