VIPs improve brand and product knowledge

Dubai - Fleet customers and senior managers from Mercedes-Benz General Distributors across the Middle East have enjoyed a four-day event in Germany to learn more about the region's market leading range of commercial vehicles.

Over 40 participants visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart before touring state-of-the-art trucks factory in Woerth.

Fleet customers and DaimlerChrysler representatives were also given the opportunity to drive the complete range of Mercedes-Benz heavy-duty trucks, including the legendary Actros that has a market share of about 40 percent in the Middle East region and the Unimog, the world's only multi-terrain all-wheel drive vehicle.

"The aim of our event was for our General Distributors and customers to gain more product experience and strengthen their Mercedes-Benz brand awareness," said Roland Schneider, Director, Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles.

"In the Commercial Vehicles business it is crucial to understand our customers and the industries in which they operate. Hence, we are constantly focusing on the dialogue with our customers and prospects about their experience with our products and services which is essential for us to comprehend and further utilise in our mutual affiliation," continued Schneider.

Mercedes-Benz trucks, vans and buses have become market leaders across the region by offering more affordable transportation and cost-effective distribution especially in the event of the recent drastic increase in the fuel prices in the Middle East region. The Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles have also been especially engineered and are successfully operating for the tough Middle East conditions.

"Our market position was enhanced in the last years by the introduction of the next generation Actros heavy-duty and long-distance operations trucks that set new standards in quality, reliability and life-cycle costs supported by residuals that can only be achieved by Mercedes-Benz trucks," added Schneider.

Mercedes-Benz truck and van sales from the period January to June this year increased with more than 60% in the Middle East region, compared to the sales in the similar period in 2004.

"Our VIP customers were impressed by the extensive range of market-leading vehicles on offer and we have received very positive feedback on the brand experience ," added Schneider.
