03 April 2007
Mena Telecom is celebrating the first anniversary of its Carrier Pre-select Service (CPS), the service whereby fixed line business and residential customers select Mena Telecom as their network provider of choice for making international telephone calls. From this month customers will enjoy a special weekend discount.

For the next three months all Mena Telecom's CPS customers will benefit from rates which are discounted at 50% below International Direct Dial (IDD) peak rates on their international calls each weekend (Friday and Saturday), starting from April.

Mr Abdul Razak Jawahery, Executive Manager Kuwait Finance House - Bahrain (KFH), representing KFH as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Mena Telecom said, "Mena Telecom is pleased to be able to share the success of our CPS product with our loyal customers.  We have been providing telecommunications options to both business and home users, in an efficient and cost-effective manner, for a year now and we want to celebrate and give something back to our customers."

Mena Telecom was the first to introduce international fixed line service into the Bahrain market in April 2006.  Recognizing the telecommunications potential in the Bahrain market early they introduced the service after successfully completing a pilot test with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and Batelco at the beginning of 2006.  Since then the service has been received well in the market, with local and international corporate customers from various sectors including, banking, insurance, construction and many other service companies.

CPS has proved a winning product for Mena Telecom; due to the high demand in the business sector.   A well-trained and professional sales and support team has been developed to cope with the demand.  To ensure customer satisfaction and reach, Mena Telecom is also adding to their GOSI customer care retail outlets with retail outlets opening in Bahrain Financial Harbour, World Trade Centre, Sitra - KFH showroom and Country Mall (Budaiya Highway) during this year.

Mena Telecom's CPS customers already benefit from a 30% reduction in fixed line International Direct Dial (IDD) rates, but this will increase to 50% on all weekend calls for the months of April, May and June 2007. The service is very simple, with no need to change phone numbers, dial access codes or purchase/install any extra equipment. Customers can apply and pay their bills at the GOSI Complex Mena Telecom's customer care retail or at any Kuwait Finance House branches.

This coming year, Mena Telecom will continue to work with key international experts and network operators to ensure its customers have access to the latest technology.  They not only offer customers CPS, but also international calling cards, call termination and broadband services. In 2007, Mena Telecom will also be implementing country-wide the National Fixed Wireless Access, a wireless internet service.
