Cairo - Egypt: In an effort to encourage students to strive for success, increase their competitiveness, and gain a better understanding of jobs in the community. Memac Ogilvy & Mather Egypt, the multinational Advertising and PR Agency launched its first ever Job Shadowing program in partner with the American University in Cairo.

Job Shadowing is designed to give students the opportunity to bridge classroom lessons with career exploration and enable students to get an up-close look at the different career opportunities available to them when they graduate. The students from the American University in Cairo spent time with the HR manager and visited various departments within the company, observed staff, and participated in discussions focusing on career choices.

"We look forward to any opportunity with a positive impact on the community.  It is really exciting to be one of the first companies to participate in the Job Shadowing program provided by the AUC to their students. Real life experiences can be an invaluable part of one's education and development. It is our goal to help promote the importance of career advising and workforce willingness to the students in our community. The project has shown that the students are extremely interested in getting to know more about the advertising field and are eager to excel in their future Jobs." Georges Aoun, MO Managing Director stated.

With its job shadowing initiative, MO provided exclusive insight into the everyday working environment of the various departments for the first time ever. Overall, 20 students had an opportunity to engage with 35 employees at work to help them decide on their next step in their future career.
