McDonald's Lebanon closes its Aley branch, and upgrades other restaurants.

After sustaining two years of tough touristic climate and the absence of significant touristic activity, McDonald's Lebanon finally decided to close its branch in Aley. The tourism area mainly caters to visitors from the Gulf who were hit by travel and security warnings.

"We want to thank our community in Aley for supporting us throughout the tough climate. We are offering all our Aley employees alternative work opportunities across our other restaurants, ensuring their career path continues unaffected." said Karim Miknas, Managing Partner of McDonald's Lebanon.

McDonald's is continuing its investments in Lebanon in other areas. Over the past months, Dunes Center Verdun, Bliss Street Hamra, as well as the flagship Dora restaurant and Sami El Solh were reimaged to ensure the restaurant experience continues in a refreshed way. The Ain El Mraisseh reimaging project continues and the restaurant is currently being completely transformed. It is due to re-open in April 2014.

"McDonald's is forever young! In our case, we are sad that we're closing Aley but at the same time we are refreshing our other stores to ensure that our overall presence and image in Lebanon remains very contemporary" said Karim Miknas.
