Mazda has recently added a brand new concept to its existing fleet called the Furai. Meaning 'sound of the wind', the Mazda Furai is the fifth evolution of Mazda's new design language. Built on a Courage C65 chassis and powered by a 450bhp, 3-rotor rotary engine, this is an ethanol (E100) powered concept car from the Mazda stable.

Voted as a drop dead gorgeous car, the Furai purposely blurs boundaries that have traditionally distinguished street cars from racing cars. The Furai effectively bridges the gap between single-purpose racecars and the sportiest of street-legal production models called super cars that emulate the real racers on the road.

Annurag Chawla, Head of Marketing & Communications, Towell Auto Centre (TAC) said, "Most super car manufacturers attempt to mimic race car components and design elements in their road cars, but we at Mazda have done something very different with the Furai. Unlike other super cars, this one is completely road-worthy."

The Mazda Furai comes equipped with an eye toward the future and the environment what with an electronic display screen and shift paddles built into the steering wheel. The engine is also modified to run on ethanol, while the sharp element you see protruding from the roof is called an 'Air Fang', and was designed to optimise ram air induction.

A prototype design, with Mazda's efficiency, the Furai is only one step closer to reality!
