Cairo, 12 October 2008 - MasterCard Worldwide today appointed Magdy Hassan as Country Manager for MasterCard Worldwide in Egypt.

Hassan has worked for MasterCard since 2003 and during this time focused on developing a number of MasterCard products suited to the Egyptian market. He has also been instrumental in developing relationships for MasterCard with leading customer financial institutions in Egypt.

Denzil Lawson, General Manager, Middle East and Levant, MasterCard Worldwide, said: "The combination of Hassan's extensive contacts in Egypt, his in-depth knowledge of the local market and his expertise in the payments industry gained in Egypt as well as internationally, meant he was a natural choice for the position."

Hassan, who is married with four children, gained his diploma in Computer Science from Ain Shams University, and a Bachelors of Commerce from Cairo University.
