Dubai – 25 January 2004 – Marriott’s Look No FurtherSM Best Rate Guarantee is now available at approximately 2,500 hotels worldwide, including Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, Marriott Conference Centers and Marriott Vacation Club International locations.  Announced last year, the guarantee became effective Jan. 1, 2004, and ensures that customers receive the best available room rate when booking through any Marriott reservations channel:  Marriott Worldwide Reservations, Marriott.com or directly with the hotel.   
 
If a customer books through Marriott and then finds a lower publicly available rate within 24 hours for the same hotel, room type and dates anywhere on an internet travel site, through a travel agency, travel management company, or even through another Marriott reservations channel, the hotel will match the lower rate and give an additional 25 percent off.* 
 
This is an industry-leading initiative, as Marriott is the only major lodging company to guarantee that if customers book through any of the company’s own reservations channels, they will not find a lower rate for the same room on any channel worldwide, including another Marriott channel.  Most other major lodging companies offer internet-only guarantees and/or web-only rates.  These guarantees and rates disadvantage the great majority of travelers who prefer to book through traditional channels, such as telephone reservations or calling hotels directly.  In contrast, Marriott’s guarantee is focused on ensuring that customers can use any Marriott reservation channel and know that they are getting the best rate.
 
In addition to offering customers the same rates and availability information across Marriott reservation channels, Marriott’s Look No FurtherSM Best Rate Guarantee also reinforces our long-standing philosophy of “selling the way customers want to buy” by ensuring that travel agencies, global reservations systems and travel management companies all have the same access to Marriott’s best available rates. 
 
A customer may submit a claim electronically by completing the claims form appearing on Marriott.com.  Customers within the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Canada may also contact Marriott Customer Care toll-free at 800-771-LOOK (5665) to submit a claim.  From outside those areas, customers can submit a claim by calling collect at [International Dialing code] + 402 + 548-3575 or electronically from Marriott.com.  More information about submitting a claim is available on Marriott.com.
 
· Marriott’s Look No FurtherSM Best Rate Guarantee is subject to terms and conditions, which are available on Marriott.com.  For example, the guarantee does not apply to third-party “opaque” providers (e.g., Priceline and Hotwire) of hotel rooms that do not identify the hotel brand name, special negotiated volume discount rates or package rates.  Additionally, claims must be filed at least 24 hours in advance of guest check-in.
