M&C Saatchi has topped a list of the 10 most successful agencies of the past decade, after acquiring accounts totalling $700 million over that period, according to an analysis compiled for Media.

This achievement crowns a top performance in the first half of the decade, strongly maintained in the second five-year period, thanks to a number of key clients, such as Qantas, ANZ, Woolworths and Optus.

The top 10 list was compiled by an independent consultation firm that measured the agency's ability to win new contracts, retain current and old contracts, and the overall advertising and marketing expenditure for the agency's clients each year over a 10-year span. In the past decade, over $5.3 billion worth of contracts were transferred between different agencies.
