M.A. Kharafi Group and InterContinental The Palace Port Ghalib Resort have recently sponsored Kuwaiti - Egyptian Forum held from 22 till 24, April 2013 at Port Ghalib, Red Sea. The Forum focused on creating multiple means to restore and revitalize the Egyptian tourism, in-addition to promoting tourism among all Arab countries. InterContinental The Palace Port Ghalib Resort, Crowne Plaza Sahara Sands Resort and Crowne Plaza Sahara Oasis Resort hosted attendees and official delegations participating at this significant forum.

The two-days forum event took place at Port Ghalib International Convention Centre, the only multipurpose state-of-the art-centre of its size on the Red Sea, located in the heart of the exciting destination of Port Ghalib, featuring  unrivalled facilities that occupy 1,950 square metres of meeting space that is capable of hosting up to 2,000 delegates, 16 versatile conference and banqueting rooms besides its latest sophisticated audiovisual equipment, simultaneous interpretation and built-in data show and speakers.

The exhibiting area at Port Ghalib International Convention Center included 61 separate booths, and a special symposium that was held to examine opportunities for investment and economic cooperation between Kuwait and Egypt, moreover to explore strategies that assist in overcoming joint investment challenges and restrictions on travel industry among Arab countries. The symposium was followed by a press conference which was attended by ministers, government officials, representatives of M. A. Kharafi Group - the forum's main sponsor - and Bureau of Kuwait Projects Charity.

The forum witnessed the attendance of Kuwaiti and Egyptian ministers and VIP government officials including H. E. Dr. Rasheed Al Hamad, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt, Dr. Ali Lotfy, former Egyptian Prime Minister, and representatives of Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Information & Civil Service Bureau, and Ministry of Trade & Industry. The attending delegations also included reputable Kuwaiti high profile representatives of Kuwait National Guard, Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Kuwait Direct Investment of Foreign Capital, Foundation of Joint Production Program at Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Kuwait Public Authority for Youth & Sports and General Organization for Housing Welfare. And to put the forum's work into action, meetings were conducted among the Egyptian ministers and financial officials with The Tourist Development Projects Company, reputable businessmen, investors and news agencies from both countries. Major construction companies, contractors, commercial institutions, hotels and resorts representatives also had vital role at the forum.

All delegations praised the service rendered during their stay and showed their appreciation for making the forum a success.
