Dubai: HE Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of Dubai Economy, inaugurated the latest hypermarket in the Lulu Group network in Dubai — representing the Third store in 2019 and the 15th branch in Dubai — in the presence of Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman and MD of Lulu Group, and a number of senior officials. This brings the total number of branches nationwide to 74 branches, while the number of outlets in various areas of its operations to 182 branches.

HE Sami Al Qamzi said: “We are keen at Dubai Economy to stand with our private sector partners and work side by side with them to promote the economic movement in Dubai. Lulu Group has demonstrated a high level of commitment to supporting trade through its extensive network of branches covering all regions of Dubai. In addition to supporting SMEs, this segment represents an integral part of the overall national economy.”

The group had already opened branches at the Lulu Water Front Market, Deira and Al Rashidiya earlier this year, with the total number of new branches launched in 2019 in the UAE reaching 14 stores, compared to nine in 2018, covering hypermarkets and express service outlets. There are plans in place to establish 22 new projects across the UAE as part of the group’s expansion plans, six of which will be in Dubai.

The new branch is located near Burjuman Metro Station, to meet the daily needs of residents in Hamriyah and surrounding areas, with a focus on providing them with the highest levels of comfort. All these specifications help ensure a comfortable shopping experience to the highest international standards and support SMEs in the Emirate. Lulu Group commits field studies before embarking on its expansion plans to identify the aspirations of various segments of society and nationalities. The group also worked on modernising its customer happiness centre to cater their every need.

Yusuff Ali commented: “We are delighted to open this new branch as part of our efforts to emphasise the vitality of the economy in Dubai and the UAE as well as benefit from the growing and prosperous shopping prospects made possible due to the campaigns, incentives, and promotional strategies launched by our wise government. The strength of the national economy in the UAE depends on several factors that include solid foundations, an increase of purchasing power, and the state of consumer optimism as revealed by the latest indicators and studies. This has encouraged us to open another six branches in Dubai in the near future, covering Al Satwa, Festival Plaza, Warsan Souk, Al Barsha South, Dubai South Mall, and Dubai Silicon Oasis Mall to take advantage of the positive investment climate in the Emirate.”

The new branch offers a wide range of departments that meet the needs of all shoppers, including fresh foods, fruits, vegetables, groceries, and hygiene products as well as electronics, clothing, appliances, home appliances, and mobile phones.

Yussuf Ali concluded: “At Lulu Group, we are proud to support the nation's overall development and will continue to support sustainable development strategies. On this occasion, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dubai Economy and the participation of its senior officials for being with us for the opening of this project, as well as for their cooperation and support. In recognition of this, we will continue to support Dubai Economy’s strategy and initiatives to empower SMEs in the Emirate.
