QPM a partner to 3 major specialized conferences as part of overall Project Qatar Series
Doha, 2 May 2015 - Qatar Project Management (QPM), the leading Qatari project management company, will be a sponsor to three of the most prominent specialized conferences that will be part of the 12th edition of the annual Project Qatar conference series being held from 4-7 May at the QNCC.
The 2015 editions of the Lighting Tech (4-5 May), Future BIM Implementation (6-7 May) and HVAC Tech (6-7 May) conferences, will welcome a wealth of specialized speakers, as well as industry leaders keen to participate in Qatar's strong development trajectory, which creates opportunities for talent, expertise and resources across all domains to help build a strong and vibrant economy.
All three conferences will be co-located and will run parallel to Project Qatar, providing delegates with opportunities to create networking opportunities across sector verticals.
Lighting Technology
The first in the series is LightingTech, which celebrates its second edition at Project Qatar 2015. Driven by the enormous amount of construction and development that Qatar is currently undertaking, innovation in lighting technology is playing an increasingly important role.
Led by green objectives, design needs and energy efficiency goals, advances in lighting technology are providing greater incentive to developers and project principals to utilize lighting effectively in urban, corporate and residential developments, roads, highways and in the public realm.
Some interesting topics will include storing and using individual localized solar generation for highway lighting, as well as the introduction of more efficient LED lighting systems.
The summit will cover topics covering the latest government regulations, industry standards and certifications, as well as the impending needs of the lighting industry.
Heating, Ventilation and Cooling
The 2nd annual HVACTech Qatar conference will bring together private and government project stakeholders, along with the latest case studies demonstrating how Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) advancements can best be applied to answer challenges in Qatar's construction environment.
Currently air conditioning accounts for 70% of the total electricity consumption in Qatar, making sustainable cooling solutions a top priority for the nation, impacting both end users and project owners seeking greater efficiency and cost savings.
Hot topics will include Energy Optimization and Conservation, Issues relating to HVAC and Civil Defense approval, Building Automation and Energy Management systems and new approaches to Improve Indoor Air Quality.
Building Information Modelling
The nature and size of many domestic projects is encouraging developers to incorporate Building Information Modelling (BIM) to facilitate ambitious building schedules. From transportation systems to sporting stadiums and other infrastructure elements, BIM enables architects, engineers, owners and construction firms to use 3D digital models to collaborate and support building projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered to the required specifications on schedule and within budget.
The agenda will include the current state of BIM implementation in the region, information about upcoming projects that are implementing BIM, new business opportunities and exploring emerging technologies.
