The Lifestyle 48, 38 and 35 Series IV and Lifestyle 28 and 18 Series III systems are DVD-based home theatre systems that produce lifelike sound from small equipment and blend into practically any dcor. Each system features five small speaker arrays, a sleek media centre, a new, smaller hideaway Acoustimass module and several proprietary Bose innovations.
Lifestyle Systems: The Basics
The Lifestyle 48 and 35 Series IV systems include five award-winning Jewel Cube speaker arrays. Just 11 cm high, these speakers rival the performance of many larger speakers. The Lifestyle 38 IV and 28 Series III systems include five Direct/Reflecting cube speaker arrays, measuring 16 cm high.
All Lifestyle systems now include a redesigned horizontal centre channel speaker, which integrates with the latest flat-panel TVs.
Both speaker packages deliver rich, room-filling sound and work with the hideaway Acoustimass module to deliver low frequencies without audible distortion.
The new Acoustimass module is notably smaller than its predecessor, but delivers the same low frequency performance. It can be placed nearly anywhere - even behind furniture and as its sound is non-localizable, the audio - from powerful movie effects to orchestral passages - seems to be coming from the tiny cube speakers.
Each system includes a media centre with a built-in DVD/CD player and AM/FM tuner that can play today's most popular audio and video formats: DVD-video, DVD-R, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, PCM, DTS Digital Surround, Dolby Digital and MP3 on CD.
A universal RF remote operates through most walls and floors and provides complete system control integration. It can control functions of most TVs, VCRs, PVRs, satellite or cable boxes and other connected equipment.
Advanced Bose Technologies Available in Lifestyle Systems
Each of these Lifestyle systems includes the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system, a proprietary Bose innovation that analyses and automatically adjusts the sound for a consumer's particular room, speaker location, furniture placement, even listener location - factors that can impact any sound system's performance. The ADAPTiQ system compensates for these variables so that the Lifestyle system delivers superb performance for either DVDs or music.
Available in Lifestyle 48 and 38 Series IV systems, the uMusic intelligent playback system digitally stores and organizes the content of hundreds of CDs - up to 200 hours of music in the Lifestyle 38 system and up to 340 hours in the Lifestyle 48 system. It then learns a user's listening preferences and prioritizes a music collection automatically.
The Bose link expansion feature is now built-in to all Lifestyle systems and can extend the music benefits of each system throughout the house - in up to 14 additional rooms. Homeowners also can play two audio sources in different areas at once: a movie can be played in the main room where the system resides, while music fills the kitchen or even outdoors. Bose offers a variety of multi-room expansion equipment options compatible with Bose link, including the AL8 homewide wireless audio link, a room-to-room wireless solution.
