Bayanat Al Oula, a subsidiary of Mobily, launched a new WiFi-enabled WiMAX router for its Broadband@Home Saturday, according to a statement issued by the company.
The new device can easily be installed and configured by anyone with basic technical ability, says the company.
Furthermore, the router allows users to easily set it up when they move homes , as users can simply pick it up and take it with them wherever they go, thanks to its plug-and-play feature, which does away with wiring and the need to install and run configuration software.
Groups of users can connect through the router at the same time using WiFi on their laptops and PCs. The router itself supports speeds of up to two (2) megabits per second (Mbps).

Broadband@Home is the first prepaid broadband service in the Kingdom and allows users to enjoy high-speed Internet away from the problem of wiring. All that customers need to do is plug the device into a mains lead at home to immediately start enjoying broadband Internet.
Broadband@Home was initially launched by Mobily's Bayanat Al Oula in four main cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Khobar. Coverage will soon be extended to other cities. Mobily today owns two thirds of the Kingdom's of a 12,000 kilometer fiberoptic network, enabling the company to easily and rapidly expand its data services through regular and broadband Internet connectivity, and to introduce new WiMax-based services that enable wireless data exchange.
